How sofa removal works across Chippenham
It's simple. You ring or WhatsApp 07742 791139 with roughly where you are and what's going — a single two-seater, a corner suite, an armchair, or the lot — and we give you a price before we set off. On the day we come to the room the sofa is sitting in, blanket-wrap anything that might catch a wall or bannister, and carry it out to the Luton van ourselves. You don't lift a thing or drag it to the kerb. Whether you're in a new Cepen Park build, a Pewsham semi, or a Victorian terrace off the New Road end of town, we bring the sack truck and straps and work out the route out before we start shifting.
Getting a sofa out of the tighter Chippenham houses
Getting the sofa out is usually the real job, not the driving. The older terraces around Lowden, Foghamshire and the streets running off Bath Road have narrow hallways and steep dog-leg staircases that a three-seater was never designed to come back down. Upstairs flats and the maisonettes near the town centre add a communal stair into the mix. We're used to it — we'll stand a settee on its end, pop the feet off, and occasionally take a door off its hinges if that's what saves your paintwork. If access is genuinely tight, tell us when you book so we send two people and the right kit rather than turning up short-handed.
What we take, and the one thing we can't
Fabric and leather sofas, two- and three-seaters, corner and modular units, sofa beds, recliners, armchairs, footstools and tub chairs all go on the van, and we're happy to clear a matching suite in one visit. Point at the extra bits — a tired mattress, a broken wardrobe, a fridge or washing machine that's on its way out — and we'll fold them into one combined price rather than making a second trip. The one thing we can't carry is paint tins or similar hazardous waste, so those need to go to your local household recycling centre yourself. Everything else, just ask.
Volume pricing versus hiring a skip
For a single sofa you're looking at around £95 and an armchair £84, no VAT and no call-out fee. If you've a full suite plus other clutter, we price by volume much like a skip, from around £150 with no VAT, but with two real differences. There's no VAT bolted on top, and we do every bit of the loading, so you're not spending a weekend filling it or paying for a permit to park a skip on a Monkton Park road. For most single-sofa jobs the fixed item price is the cheaper and quicker route by a distance.
Where your old sofa actually ends up
We're a registered upper-tier waste carrier, licence CBDU445737, and we issue a waste transfer note for every collection so you've a paper trail showing your sofa left with a licensed carrier — which matters, because fly-tipped furniture dumped down a lane towards Sheldon or Stanley is legally traced back to whoever's rubbish it was, not the person who dumped it. Sofas are awkward to recycle because of the foam and frame, but we send everything through licensed routes and re-use or recycle whatever we sensibly can. Nothing gets tipped in a gateway. Ever.
How quickly we can reach you and how far we cover
We cover Chippenham week in, week out, and same-day or next-day collection is often possible — ring in the morning and there's a fair chance we're with you that afternoon. We're not based in the town itself; we run out from the BS48 area near Nailsea and cost the travel fairly from our base into whatever quote we give you, so there are no hidden padding charges tacked on at the door. As well as Chippenham and its villages we regularly reach Calne, Corsham, Melksham and Lacock, so if you're just outside town or clearing a second property nearby, we can usually sort both in the one run.
